Please bring your own Feed, Water and Feed Buckets as there will not be any provided on the grounds. Hosted by the Nevada Gay Rodeo Association, this isn’t your grandma’s dusty old rodeo—unless your grandma is a leather-clad daddy who knows how to handle a bull. These events feature traditional rodeo competitions in rough stock (like Bareback Bronc Riding and Bull Riding), speed, and roping categories, alongside camp (comical) events, entertainment, dancing, vendors, and other activities.
All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Only Service Animals will be permitted in the Vendor area and must be on a leash.
STALLS, VETERINARIAN & FARRIER
BigHorn Rodeo stalls will be available through NGRA from Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 12:00 noon through Monday, May 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
The foundation of BigHorn Rodeo reflects Phil Ragsdale's original vision from 1976, continuing the celebration of the western lifestyle that began with gay rodeo.
Ready to swap your stilettos for spurs? Thanks to the dedication and passion of its members, the vision of those seven men in 1992 has come to life.
NGRA’s mission has remained the same over the past three decades: to produce gay rodeo events that celebrate and enhance the western lifestyle, and to raise funds for various local charities.
It’s about proving that the cowboy spirit isn’t limited to a dusty, straight-laced fantasy. But let’s be real, you’re not just here for the traditional stuff. It must show your animals to be in good health and free from disease. We will have shavings for sale in advance on the NGRA website, or at the park for $15.00. It’s a genuine celebration of our community.
Contestants requiring tack stalls or more than three stalls, shall pay the facility rate of $15.00 per stall/per day for each additional stall.
Per Horseman’s Park, all stalls are required to have shavings. Forget what you think you know about cowboy culture; here, leather harnesses and rainbow bandanas are just as common as boots and spurs.
Current regulations may be found at the USDA-APHIS website.

And honey, it works.
The vibe is both family-friendly and fiercely fabulous, a rare combo that somehow just clicks. For starters, all the high-stakes action you can handle. County authorities conduct routine inspections and violators are subject to fine and ejection from the rodeo grounds.
rules, the hosting association is to provide, at no charge, one (1) horse stall for contestants entering horse events for the rodeo weekend, which includes Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
